Automation and Artificial Intelligence - WA

Tuesday, 21 March 2017 | The Innovation Centre WA
Suite 1, Enterprise Unit 3, 9 De Laeter Way
Technology Park, Bentley

Automation and artificial intelligence are the new frontiers for innovation, an opportunity to relieve humans from repetitive, hazardous, and unpleasant labour. Automation technologies are changing our social and economic environment with the aim of creating more productive, efficient and safer ways of doing things.

But will automation technology ultimately subjugate rather than serve humankind? Will workers become slaves to automated machines, our privacy invaded by vast computer data networks? Highly skilled jobs and crafts are disappearing and relationships are now conducted in the cloud. Will automation endanger civilization as we know it or lead to a safer and more prosperous life?

Come and listen to our eminent panel, moderated by award winning broadcaster, Tom Murrell, examine the upsides and downsides of the inevitable march to automate.
